Been a little busy with getting everything ready for the House of Cards, bk1 novel. I've finished the cover for the book. Might have to tweak it a little.
But over all, I think it's pretty much complete.
I'm going to start working on the 2nd cover once Awe-thas, episode 1 is finished.
Behind the scenes:
The above cover is the final product of 6 other attempts:
1. This is when the book was still going to focus on Taps more than the kids. But as you can see, I've improved her general appearance since this picture.
2. Another attempt at a Taps cover. Added Copey to this one.
3. Our first try at Sarah being on the cover instead. I wasn't happy with this one because it was boring; minus the Lurker. As you can see, this is the same Lurker that we ended up using on the new cover (at Mom's insistence. Thank-goodness I listened!) I just modified it for the final product.
There are some other "easter-eggs" in this as well. The yellow spray paint was for Utahna's symbol in the Prequels of Mom's COS series. The red graffiti is Mom & Dad's initials with a heart around it. And the bluish symbols were waves for the the sequels to COS.
4. This attempt was focusing on one of the first scenes in the book. Lacey and Sarah running from a bunch of Lurkers. (My first posting of Lacey anywhere)
5. The next scene was Lacey and Sarah trying to get away from a beast. Not pictured at this time. Probably will finish it and post it as a separate picture.
6. A very detailed, far off look at Taps's mansion. I know that sounds odd, but it's true. Can't show this one either. I'll save it for another post, once I finish it. (It's that good, IMO).
Hopefully, this will keep your faces smiling and help you continue to build excitement for this novel.
The release date finally has a month: December 2014
EDIT: Not in DEC 2014! We've run into a large snag.
